Celebrating the Official Opening of Salt College

At the end of August, Salt College celebrated its official opening ceremony, welcoming the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, professionals in the education sector, and celebrity endorsement from professional boxer Barry McGuigan.
We would like to thank all of our invited guests who were able to attend out official opening ceremony on Friday 28th August 2026. The afternoon was spent celebrating the achievements of both staff and learners from over the past year, discussing how we can enrich our learners’ time with us and how exciting it’s been getting ready for the new year.

Our staff guided guests around the facilities, showing off how we have given the campus a refresh. Our Building Services learners can look forward to learning about various electrical fittings and components with practical workstations, and our hair and beauty specialists in Professional Services can practise salon-ready skills using more robust industry standard equipment. We look forward to seeing what our learners can achieve with these new facilities.

Since taking our first learners on in 2025, Salt College has made a commitment to supporting the future of young people with SEND needs and EHCPs. As we enter our second year of study with our returning learners, we are welcoming a new cohort who will be taking on practical, industry-led learning in construction, creative industries, hair and beauty, and more.
