Professional Services

This pathway is suitable for giving learners a great introduction to the exciting world of Professional Services including Beauty, Hairdressing & Aesthetics. Gain an understanding of the industry by exploring both hair and beauty, build your practical skills, and grow your confidence with important soft skills too.

This qualification is designed for learners who want to prepare for further learning or training in the Hair ,Beauty & Aesthetics sector.

Admission criteria ​

The Professional Services Pathway is for anyone aged 16-25 with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). 

We have 4 levels within this programme. Each learner will be internally assessed and placed on the correct level based on their skills and prior achievement within the subject. If learners were to start at entry level they will be able to progress and comp entry level they will be able to progress and complete all the levels.​

The curriculum explained

This Pathway covers a very wide range of basic areas related to the skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Hair, Beauty & Aesthetics Industry.

 

The following areas that can be covered within this qualification:

• presenting a professional image in a salon
• working with others
• Basic hand care, skin care, nail art and shampooing
• Basic make up application and face painting
• women’s hair styling
• using temporary colour to create an image
• health & safety
• reception duties
• create a hair and beauty Image

Year 1 - Introduction to Beauty 

Year 2 - Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 1
Year 3 - Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies Level 2
Year 4 - Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments Level 3

Entry criteria

There are Several levels within this pathway. Each learner will be internally assessed and placed on the correct level based on their skills and prior achievement within the subject.

  • Entry level 3  - No formal qualifications

  • Level 1  - Previous qualifications which will be assessed on application

  • Level 2 - Level 1 qualification 

  • Level 3 - Level 2 qualification
